Finding a New Agent for Potential YA Novel Once a Spartan

As of February 20, 2010, my agent is no longer with her literary agency - she left to pursue other interests.

Soooo....that leaves me agentless.

If you are an agent, this is GREAT news because it means I'm back in the market! Ha ha.

This is definitely a step backwards in the publishing process, but I'm not exactly at square one.

My former agent spent a lot of time helping to improve my manuscript from its previous state. So I have that going for me.

My former agent also left me a list of other potential agents and told me to mention her name when I query them. So I have a referral, several in fact, and that is something I did not have at square one. Holly Root, an agent at Waxman Literary Agency, wrote this good blog post on referrals.

I am spending time now looking up the agents on this referral list and determining which one might be the best fit for me. Keep your finger crossed for me!

Fingers crossed! You have a great outlook.

Wish I could help but honestly,I have nothing to offer in this area. I'm agentless too.

Thanks, Joyce.

You may be agentless, but you have an editor! I think that's more difficult.
