After a busy week of writing and and the "business of writing," which is what I like to call everything writers have to do that isn't exactly writing (for example, creating my NEW Web site: http://www.annegreenawalt.com/), I took a day off and climbed Pole Steeple at Pine Grove Furnace State Park with my mom for her birthday. The Pole Steeple Trail intersects with the Appalachian Trail. It's one of our family's favorite hikes that my mom's side of the family had been going on for decades before I was born. They initiated me into the hike at age three.
Above is a landscape shot of the view from the top of the mountain. To the left and right are photos of my mom and me at the top. Afterwards, we cooled off in Fuller Lake, then picked up a chocolate mousse cake, then waited for my dad and went out to eat. When I allow myself to take time away from writing, this is how I like to spend my day.
