Creative Writing Classes for Adults and Children in Central PA

If you're a creative writer or aspiring creative writer in the central Pennsylvania / greater Harrisburg area, I'd like to invite you to enroll in my creative writing class this fall!

I will be teaching two creative writing classes, one for adults and one for children, through the Mechanicsburg Recreation Department.

Creative Writing for Adults

6-week program: Tuesdays from 10/18/11 to 11/22/11 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm

All levels of writers 18 years of age and older are welcome!  This is a chance for you to get feedback on your writing from and a published writer with a master's degree in creative writing (me) and your peers.  I will also help you work through writing exercises and other activites to spark your creativity and writing muscles.  Creative writing is also an opportunity for self reflection.

Creative Writing for Kids

6-week program: Tuesdays from 10/18/11 to 11/22/11 from 5 to 6pm

Children ages 8 to 12 are encouraged to sign up for this class. If your children or other children you know between these ages love to hear and tell stories, this is the class for them. These young writers will learn how to create characters, plots, settings, and more to tell their own stories. They'll read books and play games and other activites to inspire their creativity.
Enrollment Information

Enrollment information is available from the Mechanicsburg Recreation web site.  (If the Fall enrollment information is not yet available, it will be soon. Check back at the end of August/beginning of September.)

For questions about enrollment, check out the online registration portal, or you can contact the office directly at 717-691-4572 or

For questions related to the content of the creative writing classes, please contact me.

I look forward to working with you!

I realize that I am creeping hardcore right now, please forgive me. I was honstly just flipping through the Mech Rec thing in the mail and saw your name. I then proceeded to get on my blog for class in an attempt to find you and then ask. Then I discovered this blog and subsequently this post :D Anyway, I think it's awesome you're doing this class!

Thanks, Nicole! I'm really looking forward to it. I miss taking creative writing classes, and I thought this would be a good way to stay motivated with my own writing while helping other people with theirs.
